Two nights in a row I stayed up till 4 in the morning, because I couldn't put this book down.
MM dark romance.
Spicy scenes.
When I began reading, I knew this was something I had never read before, and I am so glad I did. This is an amazing read and it turned into one of my favorite books.
In the beginning one of the mmc, Nikolai, has an extreme focus on what's in his pants (it is actually a bit funny) and how many he’s been with, but that's just a part of him, and I promise you will love him.
Nikolai is rough on the outside, and sometimes also inside, but with Brandon, the other mmc, he is a perfect golden retriever character. Even though he sometimes tries to push Brandon’s limits, he is amazing with him.
Brandon, the other mmc, is kind to everyone yet a little distant, but on the inside he battles and suffers so much, and one's heart goes out to him.
Only one can push him over the edge or catch him off guard, and that is Nikolai. But while the words that come out of Brandon's mouth are spoken as an attempt to fight Nikolai off, his body responds to him in ways he's never felt before.
His backstory, and how he has dealt with what has happened to him, can really teach people to speak to someone and not let something fester inside and be destructive.
Their story is a rollercoaster of feelings, and at some point I almost cried my eyes out because of a certain event. I have no idea how long I cried, but it almost broke me, that’s how amazing this book is.
I cannot recommend this book enough. I am already on my second read of this, and I am not kidding, when I write that it is hard to handle, that I have already read their whole story. It honestly hurts badly in my chest, when I think about them not being real.
God of fury can be read as a standalone, but is part of a series. In fact it is the 5. book, but I read this before the other books in the series. The characters being mentioned are part of the other books in the series, but in these Brandon and Nikolai will only play a small part.
From the book: Why would he be happy with me when I can’t stand myself most of the time?

God of Malice by Rina Kent

Read trigger warnings.
The first book I read in this series was book # 5 God of fury. It is amazing and it affected my emotions to such a degree, that I decided to read the whole series.
This book was not exactly the same experience because of Killian. I really enjoyed the storyline and Glyndon, but Killian “rubbed me the wrong way.” He is not a safe person. Not the kind of person where you might say that he is rough on the outside, but soft and loving on the inside. He is not. Of course he has been through some sort of emotional damage, to make him the way he is, but in my opinion he is still not safe for women. So it was hard for me to read it, and see Glyndon falling in love with and making excuses for him.
But I’ve found out that I really enjoy books written by Rina Kent, and that when she can describe someone like Killian in a way that makes one dislike him, says something really positive about the writing. Rina Kent can also make me cry while reading. And I love that. She has the ability to open one's emotions with her written words.
The story begins on a cliff, in the dark, overlooking the sea. Glyndon is trying to find peace with the fact that she lost her good friend, and the one she confided her secrets to, a few weeks back, as she watched his car speed up and drive off the cliff.
She is lost in her thoughts and sorrow when she meets Killian, who takes advantage of the situation and the state she’s in. He also likes to take dark and sorrowful photos, so he takes her picture when she is in the most desperate situation on the cliff.
This is the beginning of their adventure, and it is not going to be an easy one.
From the book: "That's right, your God. Worship at my altar, baby."
If you have a different opinion on Killian or anything else you want to discuss, do contact me on Instagram or Facebook, because I’d love to talk about these books. And I will read this again, because I have a better opinion of Killian, when I read about him in the other books in the series.

God of Pain by Rina Kent

Read trigger warnings.
Rina Kent, how could you make me cry and sob through so many pages?
How could you make Annika somewhat annoying every second time she opens her mouth, and those times she won’t admit to her feelings in front of Creighton, yet still make her loveable?
And Creighton, when he first starts talking..
This is a story about love, sex and violence, but throughout the book, I got more and more involved in the characters, and suddenly my face was a mess of tears. I thought it would stop after a couple of pages, but I haven’t done anything this evening and hours into the night besides reading, crying and sobbing. My stomach hurts and I don’t know how to fall asleep now.
It is also a story about sexual pleasure through pain, so if that is one of your triggers, be aware. But if you got to this book and like the series, it might not be a trigger afterall
Creighton is a silent fighter. He doesn’t say much, but he is aware of his surroundings and what people are saying, even though it seems like he doesn’t care at all.
He likes to fight against whoever enters the boxing ring from The Heathens, and his sexual tendencies are dark.
Annika is talkative, a ray of sunshine and a bit too childish for her own good. But she is not stupid, you realize that when you get a look inside her mind.
And she won’t let Creighton get away with his seemingly lack of interest in her in the beginning.
When his interest starts to flourish, she is in too deep to get out.
Things that happened in the past, things that you had no control over, can sometimes intertwine with the present and destroy the future you hoped for, if you don’t stop it before it all gets out of control
From the book: The moment I decide that Annika Volkov won’t be able to escape me. Not even if she wants to.
